McComb Chiropractor: Dr. W. R. Webb

“The Day My Life Was Changed” And what you should know about it!

Let me tell you a little about myself and the reason why I became a Chiropractor. The story began when I was about 23 years old. I had suffered with episodes of upper back, neck and shoulder pain for several years and had gotten no relief with conventional medication. A friend suggested that I try a chiropractor, so I did. Not long after my first visit the pain eased and I was able to work without pain. This initial experience left an impression on me. I wondered how something that seemed so simple could work (even without medication). However, I returned to life as usual until I suffered an injury to my lower back. This injury resulted in the onset of severe lower back pain and right leg sciatica. My medical doctor was almost positive that I needed surgery. I, instead decided to use a chiropractor since the pain had not resolved after 6 months of conventional medical care. My pain began to ease after 2 weeks and at the end of 6 weeks, I was back at work with most of my pain and symptoms gone. I have been a chiropractic patient since. This was when I decided, “ I want to be a Doctor of Chiropractic”

(I might also mention that the reason I used a medical doctor at first was that workers compensation did not cover chiropractic at that time so I could only use the Company doctor. I had to pay for the chiropractor myself.) MS law now allows Workers Compensation payment and most insurance policies including Medicare now cover chiropractic.

I am committed to helping people achieve their optimum expression of life and vitality. Knowing that our bodies are designed to self-heal and self-regulate, we look to remove obstacles to that inborn healing mechanism so that our patients can regain their health and maximize their lives. I am committed to using the safest, most effective and most comfortable techniques that I can employ to naturally support the body in its healing process.

Sure, we love to help people with sore backs, necks, and extremities (other parts like wrists, ankles, knees, etc), but the real excitement in our practice comes from seeing what some might think are surprising life changes. For instance, a young boy not having to suffer the embarrassment of bed-wetting (even during the day at school), an 80+ year old woman no longer needing the recurrent rounds of antibiotics for her “normal” bladder infections, a young woman finally be able to conceive after her OB/GYN told her that that just wasn’t going to be possible. All of these exciting life changes occurred after the body’s inborn, internal healing mechanism was turned back on through the chiropractic care that we deliver in our office everyday. The world is filled with endless accounts of how Chiropractic care has changed people’s lives. Do I have a great job or what?!

Since 1982 I have been truly blessed to be married to my best friend, Vickie. I have been further blessed by our three children. Our family enjoys time spent with friends, family and going camping. My personal hobbies are reading and working around my house.

I frequently get asked if I get chiropractic care. The answer is, “ABSOLUTELY!” In fact, I get checked once or twice a week. I don’t do this because I’m constantly having problems. I get checked regularly to make sure that I can perform at my peak potential. Just like working out, you get a certain, predictable result. Likewise, you get a certain predictable result from flossing and brushing your teeth. Regular chiropractic care gives me a certain, predictable result in my health. I feel best with good rest, daily stretching, frequent exercise, a healthy diet focused on fresh, whole foods (organic when possible) and nutritional supplements.

I consider myself an excellent listener and hope I get the opportunity to meet you in person and discuss your specific health challenge. Give our office a call or email me with the link below. Thanks for visiting our site. I look forward to meeting you and learning how we may be of service to you. Let’s arrange a time to explore your options.

Enough about me! How can we help you with today’s safe and natural chiropractic care? Give us a call so we can help you take your first step towards better health.

Educational Background: Dr. Webb began his academic career in Pharmacy at the University of Mississippi. He finished his undergraduate work in Pre-Chiropractic education at Lee College in Cleveland, TN and Jefferson State Community College in Birmingham, AL. This course work was in anatomy, physiology, biology, chemistry, mathematics, languages, humanities, psychology and other pertinent studies.

Dr. Webb was then accepted at the Life College of Chiropractic in Marietta, Georgia. The chiropractic curriculum is much like medicine’s curriculum. Much of the early years are exactly the same type of classes that all physicians take including, advanced anatomy, physiology, microbiology, public health, diagnosis and others. When medical doctors learn about drugs and surgery, chiropractic doctors learn about safe and effective adjusting techniques and other natural methods of improving health like nutritional counseling. He graduated Summa Cum Laude 1979. Dr. Webb has been in continuous private practice in Mississippi and Louisiana since his graduation in 1979.
